It's just about chess. In my opinion, I am a bad-low average chess player. So for me, the KI is fine. I'm actually stuck on rank 3, so there are 7 left. As soon as I do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, the game punishes me. And of course sometimes the KI does dumb things, too.Whats left to say? You can save your game up to 6 different save games. If you are a core chess gamer, then the KI may be not challenging. If you are a bad causal chess player like me, then the KI will stomp you if you wish.It's just a good chess game.. Finally, we have a nice, but affordable little chess game on Steam (without annoying advertisements, Simply Chess!), a necessity that was missing for a long time. I appreciate that I have the choice to play against humans, play against the AI or solve little problems with an increasing degree of difficulty. I feel a comfortable, relaxing and somehow noble atmosphere, brooding over my virtual board while listening to Mozart.The controls are something one has to get used to, and the game does not do a good job explaining itself in this regard. - Sometimes, it is hard to distinguish the different kinds of (glass-like half transparent) pieces from the default perspective; left-click and drag moves your camera though, and you can check wether this is a Queen or a Bishop... - Moving your pieces with your mouse does not work well sometimes, because the hitboxes are not set right; you can however solve this with your arrow keys. - Setting the volume of music and sound effects is explained ingame, but not in a helpful way; again, clicking the value and dragging the mouse (up or down) is the solution. - Finally: Leaving the game temporarily with ALT-TAB is not possible; if you want to read tutorials or do something else without quitting the game, you have to choose "fullscreen off" in the launcher menu. Such difficulties are more than unnecessary, and I hope the developer will fix them with patches! Nevertheless, the game works as it is, and I love chess, therefore I give it a 6/10.. I own several CHessboards IRL. Marble, wooden and glass ones, and THIS game captures the feeling I get playing them.Its a beautiful game. Really feels like the game of kings, unlike other comic-like chess games on steam. Feels like the devs take it serious. It's made of beautiful graphics and environments. Even tough it could have more rooms to choose from, they really know how to make a beautiful setting to play chess.. Pure Chess a very good game to learn a lot about Chess it is also very challenge full, i like it but sometimes i am bored to play against the Computer players. It would be cool to play online with other peoples but sadly is the Online Multiplayer server very inactive. I recommend it to the people who are interested to learn a lot about chess and also love the challenge. And less recommendable for those who like to play online.. ok, it a great looking game and maybe my problem is a simple problem to fix, that being said i dont want to need to fix anything when i can get the same (mind you less pretty) game for free. Simple chess program with both local AI play and online play. Also chess tutoring and chess problems exist to challenge you. Lots of different chess set styles to choose from, and each style has a sub style of wood, metal, etc. you can change your view using the mouse, but it doesnt appear to be a truly free camera movement. All in all, I think its worth the 10 bucks if you like chess and want a nice little program to play it.
